After a sad turn of events in her adoption requests, this is probably good news for Madonna. Reports claimed that Madonna’s former hometown wanted to give her honor with a key to the city.

According to The Bay City Times, Bay City is changing its mind towards giving Madonna an honor after they have declined the idea way back 1985. And that the city is asking them a second chance to honor her.

According to the report, Charles M. Brunner wrote a letter to the pop star saying that the city has always been proud of her accomplishments. The letter also said that Madonna’s induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame has reminded the city that they indeed should give her the highest honor that they can offer. It is not clear, however, as to when the letter was delivered to Madonna and what her response to invitation was.

It was also said in the report the Charles M. Brunner is lobbying the father of the pop star to help him persuade Madonna to accept the key to the city. The ceremony for the awarding was planned to include a screening of Madonna’s movie and doing a tribute album. These will happen only when Madonna conceded, though.

As many of you may remember, the pop star has been considered to receive the same honor in 1985 with the phenomenal success of ‘Like a Virgin’. However, the idea was denied by some officials of Bay City citing that Madonna’s accomplishments are too risqué. And in 1980, an Italian artist offered a sculpture of Madonna to the city which they refused because they believed that she will eventually fades out of the limelight.

Well, it’s about time Bay City honor Madonna after all these years. However, because of the skepticism of some of their officials then, no one knows whether the she will accept it or not. Maybe she will accept them, after all she have a good heart and she surely knows how to forgive.
