Is Simon Cowell Leaving ‘American Idol’?
No. Simon Cowell is still on ‘American Idol’ and you will not miss him for at least another year.
Yes, Simon’s contract expires next year but for the meantime, you will still see him in ‘Idol’ up until next year; being sharp-tongue as always. Rumors circulated recently that Cowell will be out of the show but these have been denied outright.

Fueling the rumors were Simon’s words when he was interviewed by The Daily Mirror saying that he prefer ‘British Got Talent’ over ‘American Idol’ and his other show, ‘X-Factor’. As to why, he said that the show always make him laugh. But, in spite of that, he claims that he love ‘American Idol’.
Meanwhile, let’s take a look at what’s happening in ‘American Idol’ and recap the Top 7 performances which have the theme ‘Songs from the Movies’. Serving as a mentor for this week is Quentin Tarantino; the actor/producer/director. Well, he is perfect for this week’s theme since he probably knows any movie soundtrack.
First to come out the stage is Allison Iraheta. Singing ‘I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing’ from the movie ‘Armageddon’, she got a standing ovation from Steven Van Zandt while Simon commented that she is the ‘girls hope in this year’s ‘Idol’. Anoop Desai performed next, singing Bryan Adams’ ‘Everything I Do, I Do It For You’. Both Randy Jackson and Kara DioGuardi have good to say to him. Adam Lambert performed after Anoop with ‘Born to be Wild’ from the movie ‘Easy Rider’. Paula applauds him while Simon does the opposite.
On the other hand, another Bryan Adams song were performed next. Matt Giraud is singing ‘Have You Ever Really Loved a Woman?’ from the movie ‘Don Juan de Marco’. Randy and Kara said the bridge is not so good and was over sung. Lionel Richie’s ‘Endless Love’ is the song of Danny Gokey. Simon said he was disappointed of the performance while Paula liked it.
Kris Allen performed next with ‘Falling Slowly’ from the movie ‘Once’. Kara commented that the song was an obscure one and Randy said the performance was pitchy all the way from its beginning. Lastly, Lil Rounds sings Bette Midler’s ‘The Rose’ where Lil said the song was pretty with the gospel twist she gave in response to Simon’s comment.
