NBC’s gem: Saturday Night Live

At the start of the television season for this year, CBS started strongly while Fox and NBC seem to be lagging behind. For the latest results last week, CBS gained while NBC and Fox seem to have a slow week. For last week’s results in terms of audience share, from October 13 to October 19 the crime drama from CBS topped the list. The CSI: Crime Scene Investigation led them all in the results that were compiled by Nielsen Media Research. The show from CBS gained 19.27 million viewers and this was follows closely by another banner CBS show, the NCIS that took home 18.04 million viewers. Dancing with the Stars and Desperate Housewives by ABC followed the two hit shows from CBS.
The list was then populated by CBS and ABC shows from number 6 down to number 9. Fox channel has the last entry in the top 10 with their ‘House’ that took 13, 27 million viewers. According to the same data that were collected by Nielsen, CBS was the only one among the top five networks with more prime time viewers for last week, and ten of the nation’s most watched prime time shows are on CBS. The CBS surge is as always led by the hit show ‘CSI: Crime Scene Investigation’. For ABC, their bright spot was ‘Samantha Who?’ Fox channel is looking forward for the World Series between the Phillies and the Tampa Bay Rays, and only a long series can help the channel. And for NBC, no other show in the NBC stable has matched the ratings that were submitted by the late-night show ‘Saturday Night Live’ with Sarah Palin. The show ended with 14 million viewers. No other primetime show from NBC even reached more than 10 million viewers except of the Sunday’s football game.
