Britney’s trial drama ends
The long running drama involved in the trial of Britney Spears for misdemeanor has ended. And after three days of deliberations by the jury, they have finally come to a conclusion and they added that they cannot agree on whether the pop singer was guilty of driving without license during an incident last year. In the end after much talk, ten jurors voted to acquit the singer and the other two voted for the conviction of Spears. After the jury split was announced, the prosecutor said that he will soon drop the case but added that he still believes that the singer was guilty.
Deputy City Atty. Michael Amerian noted that it is often difficult to prosecute famous defendants, whether the case may be big or small. The dismissal of the case against Britney Spears was a drama-filled conclusion to the 13 month legal battle that featured the troubled singer. For the duration of the trial, the singer did not set foot in the Superior Court of Van Nuys and according to her attorney the singer as unable to participate meaningfully in the matter. Her father the one who controls her estate, finances and healthcare testified on her behalf. But he also refused to request from her own lawyer that she takes the stand. He added that Britney doesn’t like the court. Little implications can be brought to both sides. The prosecutor added that this is not the crime of the century. The only issue that was settled by the jury was whether the singer considers Los Angeles as her true home and therefore needed a state license. For her defense the singer argues that her native Louisiana was her real home. Her father testified for her and added that her daughter carried a Louisiana license at that time.
