Britney’s case stalled again
It seems that the case of Britney Spears isn’t moving once again. This comes after the jurors in the Britney Spears trial for her driving without license ended once again without arriving at a verdict. This was the second time that the jurors has failed to arrive at a decision and they indicated that they could be headed for a deadlock. After the jurors retired last Friday in order to consider the verdict for the misdemeanor case against the singer, the jurors on the said case once again returned to court on Monday to talk about the evidence against the singer. The singer was not required to attend the two day trial that was set for last week.
Early Monday, the jurors on the case indicated that they were leaning towards the 10-2 score, and did not add where in which way they are leaning. Since the jury has failed to come up with a decision, the Van Nuys Superior Court Judge James Steele requested that the members of the jury continue to deliberate on the matter. It was expected that the jury will meet once again Tuesday to finalize the decision.
The trial for the singer continued after the singer rejected the pleas that would have her sentenced for one year probation and a fine of 150 dollars. The case was linked to the incident that happened August 2007 where the paparazzi that were trailing her car caught her bumping a car in the parking lot and she simply drove away. The investigations that followed the incident revealed that the singer did not carry a valid California license, and for that the singer was charged with a misdemeanor. This charge is punishable by jail time, or the offender can be fined. The side of the singer argued that time that she has a valid Louisiana license.
