SNL and Tina Fey’s winning streak continues

Tina Fey continues to make waves over at Saturday Night Live. The ratings of the comedy show once again improved for the better, and the increase in ratings can be attributed as well to the recently-concluded vice-presidential debate. NBC’s Saturday Night Live ratings improved to more than 23 percent over the last weekend. The push for the ratings can be linked to Tina Fey’s impersonation of vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin. The Saturday’s show that was hosted by Anne Hathaway gained more laughs for the show, with the Palin skit being the center of attraction. Queen Latifah was a special guest star as well for the show. The Saturday telecast of the show averaged 7.4 percent in ratings. The comedy show started the season two weeks early in anticipation of the presidential elections. Democratic vice presidential nominee Biden was played by Jason Sudeikis and his character made repeated references to his Scranton roots and his fondness for John McCain. But it was Tina Fey who once again controlled the tempo of the show. The skit focused on the governor’s accent and the dropping of the letter ‘g’ at the end of the words.
The good fortunes of the actress aren’t limited to SNL and in making comedy shows. It was reported as well that the alumna from Saturday Night Live has recently signed a book deal with Little, Brown Book Group. This was reported by the Associated Press Monday. No word was given on how much the comedian will get for the agreement. But based on published reports on the New York Post, the competing publishers were offering the comedienne with close to $6 million. If the deal is indeed true, then the comedic performances and the hard work by her have paid off. Tina Fey gained significant attention by portraying the Republican vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin.
