Going out with Clay Aiken
Clay Aiken is set to proclaim to the whole world that he is gay. Others may probably think that it’s a foregone conclusion and others may see no value in the singer, but still the American Idol singer is a star in his own right. The revelation is newsworthy in a sense that the singer has been dodging and avoiding these questions for years after he entered the reality competition. The admission will be made public when People Magazine unveils the interview on its website this week. A number of media outlets preempted the move of the website with their own story to tell about the admission of Clay Aiken. Perez Hilton, the owner behind the site already published a photo of the cover of the People Magazine’s upcoming issue where Clay Aiken cradles his new son in his arms. And the caption on the magazine cover reads ‘Yes, I’m Gay’ and underneath that was his decision in coming out. He added that he cannot raise a child to lie or hide things. Just this August, the singer’s friend gave birth to the baby fathered by Aiken.
The spokesman for the magazine did not confirm or deny that Clay Aiken indeed admitted that he is gay, but the spokesman confirmed that the singer will indeed come out in their magazine. Clay Aiken became popular when he joined the ‘American Idol’ in 2003. He placed first runner-up at the show and from then on he built his own singing career, He stars on Broadway’s ‘Monty Python’s SPAMALOT’. If indeed the admission is true then this will be the first time the singer has admitted to the talks. For many years, the singer has been evading these kinds of questions and often telling the press that his sexuality was nobody’s business. In an interview conducted by Diane Sawyer, he shot back that it was a rude question when he was asked about his sexuality.
