Depp to voice Rango
The movers behind the hit ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ are set to reunite once again and this time around they will be working on an animated feature film. Johnny Depp and director Gore Verbinski will be working once again on the movie Rango. And the animated movie is set to be release on March 2011. Johnny Depp will provide the voice for the lead actor which is a household pet that goes on an adventure in order to discover his true self. John Logan of ‘The Aviator’ wrote the script for the animated feature based from the idea of Gore Verbinski.
The director will work with the Industrial Light and Magic on the animation needs of the film. The movie will be produced by Blind Wink Prods, Graham King and John Carls. The Par-based Nickelodeon Film will be involved in the project as well. The director will direct this animated movie and at the same time work on the adaptation of the best-selling videogame called ‘BioShock’ for the Universal Studios. The script for the ‘BioShock’ was written by Logan. The animated movie that is set to be released on 2011 will use the cutting-edge animation techniques and will allow the producers of the film to capture and translate every aspect of the actor’s performance thru the use of computer generated character. If this can be done, then this will be the first time that this technique will be used on an animated feature. The ILM previously worked with director Gore Verbinski to design and create the octopus-faced Davy Jones of the ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’. The actor is set to work on the movie starting January next year. Paramount Pictures may not be the studio that you will first think when it comes to cartoons and animated features, but the studio is set to produce this animated flick.
