Madonna in the spotlight once again
With the launching of her new concert tour, Madonna once again courts controversy. It has been one of the more notable trademarks of the singer’s career; courting controversies when performing. Now this time with the start of her new concert tour ‘Sticky and Sweet’ the singer once again created buzz thru the release of a video. In the said video, the singer compared John McCain to Adolf Hitler. The move is just one of the more notable moves that are known to be part of Madonna’s style here her tours and albums are often mixed with politics, sex and religion. Other singers of her time rose to fame and then slowly faded from the limelight, Madonna was the singer that remained and still plays to capacity audiences. And no matter what the controversy may be, the singer is known maintain her loyal following in the entertainment scene.

Many believed that the singer is an extraordinarily brilliant businesswoman and as such any controversy that she started usually does more good than harm to her.
When her newest world tour opened in Cardiff Wales, the singer showed a video montage that juxtaposed the images of Hitler and the US presidential candidate. The McCain camp reacted swiftly and blasted Madonna. The campaign spokesperson told media organizations that the video produced by the singer was ‘outrageous, unacceptable and crudely divisive’. The national director of the Anti-Defamation League also issued a statement condemning the video. According to Abraham Foxman, it was outrageous to invoke the Nazi imagery in the context of McCain’s candidacy.
Throughout her career, the singer was the object of many protests as well. In 2005, the Rabbis criticized the singer over the song Isaac. The singer has also drawn the ire of the catholic establishment and Vatican over her many songs and concerts.
