Staind: Jonas Brothers will take top album sales post
Just how popular are the Jonas Brothers in the music scene right now? Well the rockers Staind in an interview said that with The Jonas Brothers on the second week on the charts, they aren’t hoping for a top position in the album sales. The band’s sixth album, ‘Illusion of Progress’ will be made available in the market and it’s ready to face off with the Jonas Brothers. Asked about the possibility of having their fourth number one album on Billboard Top 200, the lead guitarist of the band replied that it isn’t possible. Guitarist Mike Mushok said that their album will fall short of being the fourth number #1 of their band with the Jonas Brothers looming.

The band has every reason to hope for a better performance in the charts. Since 2001, Staind have released three full length studio albums and all these three have entered the Billboard Top 200#1 post. The three Chapter records made three consecutive chart-topping debuts for the band courtesy of 2001’s Break the Cycle which delivered 716,000 copies, the 2003’s effort and 2005’s Chapter V.
The band has a history of success at the Billboard charts, but right now their optimism is being dampened by the presence of the boy band from New Jersey. Though the band expects that will now only play second fiddle to the boy band, the guitarist for the band is proud that they’ve been around for more than 10 years.
The single from their album, Believe is starting its rotations on radios. The band may pull off an upset in album sales, but it is highly doubtful with the Jonas Brothers being backed by Disney. Mushok in an interview joked that people should let the Jonas Brothers have their huge third week, and not a huge second week. At the end of the day, sales don’t matter to Staind. What matters is that they are still around after more than 10 years.
