Tom wants a ‘Sleeper’ hit
Tom Cruise knew how big Batman and Iron Man have become, and this is the reason why he is on the lookout for an adaptation that he can calls his own. In the next chapter in the life of the Cruise, he has developed an strong interest in the comic book movies, perhaps partly motivated the recent successes of Batman and Iron Man.In the right move towards that direction, Tom Cruise has partnered with Sam Raimi and they set up the ‘Sleeper’ at Warner Bros. The actor is loosely attached to star in the adaptation of the DC Comics and Wildstorm Comic that Sam Raimi will produce. The ‘Sleeper’ is based on the story written by Ed Baker and the artwork done by Sean Phillips. This comic book which ran from 2003 until 2005 tells the story of the operative whose fusion with an alien artifact makes his body impervious to pain and he has the capability to pass this to others thru skin contact. He was contacted by an intelligence agency and placed undercover in a villainous organization and falls for the member of the group named Miss Misery.

Tom Cruise is connected with United Artist together with his longtime partner Paula Wagner, but he is not tied exclusively to the studio. After the failure of his last movie ‘Lions for Lambs’; Tom Cruise is set to work on the Spyglass thriller ‘Tourist’. The ‘Sleeper’ is the third project that carried the name of Cruise this past week.
And in addition to the two movies mentioned, Tom Cruise has also expressed interested in the working Title-Universal comedy called the ‘Food Fight’. Cruise also made an uncharacteristic turn at the DreamWorks-Paramount project, the ‘Tropic Thunder’. The interest of Tom Cruise on the ‘Sleeper’ has helped propel the movie into the limelight.
