Fishburne joins CSI
The guy famed for his portrayal as Morpheus in the movie ‘The Matrix’ is set to join the cast of CSI. Laurence Fishburne is a stage and a screen star who’s last appearance of TV was on the 1980s kid show ‘Pee Wee’s Playhouse’. His new role on CSI will be a welcome respite for the stage actor after playing dark and brooding characters on many movies. His new role at CSI will be a forensics investigator which has disturbing tendencies.

Laurence Fishburne is known for his portrayal of Morpheus in the hit ‘The Matrix’ and he was also known for his Oscar nominated film as Ike Turner in the movie ‘What’s Love Got to Do With It’. The actor is expected to make his CSI debut in episode nine of CSI’s ninth season. CSI is CBS’ top rated show and averaged with 17 million viewers last season. And the series is the third most-watched scripted series in the US prime time block. The actor was hired to replace William Petersen who was an original cast member since 2000 as Gil Grissom.
Fishburne will assume the role of a professor with a disturbing past. The characters of Fishburne and Petersen will overlap for two episodes. The actor will be cast as a medical doctor and an expert in criminal behavior. And after being forced out from his career as a research pathologist, he became a college professor and in turn ends up being involved with a CSI investigation. The character of Fishburne does not yet have an official name, but the role of the actor has already direction. His character specializes in probing the underlying of some causes of violent and aggressive behavior. This was Fishburne’s return to the CBS fold after his stint on the children’s television show called ‘Pee Wee’s Playhouse’.
