A couple of days ago in Mississippi, the Academy award-winner Morgan Freeman was involved in a tragic car accident. Currently a star in “The Dark Knight”, he and his co-star Demaris Mayer were driving on Mississippi Highway 32. It was 11:30 pm when Freeman’s car went off the right side of the road and proceeded to flip over. The doors were pushed on the vehicle and both of them had to be removed from the car.

Though the accident was a life-threatening, Freeman was conscious as he was pulled from the car. This report came from the editor of the Sun Sentinel in Charleston Clay McFerrin, who was on the scene during the accident. Freeman and Mayer were airlift on Regional Medical Center in Memphis. Access has confirmed that the actor was in serious condition. He needs to undergo surgery and looking forward to be fine and to a full recovery. Morgan has suffered from broken arm, elbow and has minor shoulder damage but was in good spirits.

The accident is till under investigation. Mississippi Highway Patrol confirmed to Access that there is no alcohol involved. The spokesperson also added that there was no charge that has been filed against Freeman.
